The Workers' Compensation Appeals Board has ruled that California's workers' comp courts can't hear Business and Professions Code Section 17200 claims - a ruling that amazingly has heartened both sides of the case.The plaintiffs' attorney is glad because the ruling left a glimmer of hope for him to try again at the trial level to get his case certified as a class action on behalf of thousands of injured workers who were allegedly wronged by industry's poor claims-handling practices.
