Kentucky One Step Closer to Jockey Coverage

SAN FRANCISCO -- The Kentucky Horse Racing Authority is recommending legislation that will provide workers' compensation coverage for jockeys, apprentice jockeys and exercise riders at state racetracks and training facilities. The proposal would pay premiums for a nonprofit Kentucky Jockey Injury Compensation Fund from an unspecified percentage of wagers on races run in the state.
