Texas Employers to Get $76.2m in Workers’ Compensation Refunds

AUSTIN -- Texas employers are expected to share an estimated $76.2 million in refunds from the state's workers' compensation residual market.The payments will be made to policyholders covered under retrospectively rated policies from the Texas Workers' Compensation Insurance Facility from May, 1991 through 1992, during which the fund generated surpluses.The refunds are in addition to those previously ordered by the Department of Insurance for surpluses generated by the fund in 1993 and 1994.
