Vargas Weds Longshoremen to CIGA (2)

Assemblyman Juan Vargas (D-Chula Vista) is proposing legislation that would require insurers who provide coverage under the federal Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act to be members of the California Insurance Guarantee Association. CIGA would then be required to pay the insolvent carrier's claims under the federal act relating to injuries sustained on the worksite.
