In our previous Flash Reports, we indicated that the cost increase associated with AB 338 (Coto), which will increase the number of weeks injured workers are able to collect temporary disability, would be 3 percent of total system costs. That was incorrect. According the bureau, this bill will only result in a small increase in costs not of the magnitude previously reported. Any increate to the filing as a result of this bill - AB 338 - will be small. The discussion of the Perata bill SB 936 was however correct and will have the 6 percent effect as it become fully phased in.
